About Clays Against Breast Cancer

Clays Against Breast Cancer is an open event for every level of shooter—even if you’ve never held a gun. This is not a competition—it's just a weekend of blasting clays* and raising money for a great cause. Instructors will be on-hand to teach firearm safety, provide general skeet and trap shooting instruction and answer just about any questions you have about shooting and the event.

This year, all of the money raised will be donated to THE RED DEVILS. Our goal is $15,000.

*We do have to warn you that clay shooting can be quite an addictive sport.

LOCATION:  Loch Raven Skeet & Trap Center, 12301 Dulaney Valley Road, Phoenix, MD 21131

What to bring

If you're a first-timer at Clays Against Breast Cancer or Loch Raven Skeet and Trap Center, the most important things you can bring are a cancer killing instincts and a fun attitude. We provide a shotgun, eye protection (you may also wear your prescription glasses or sunglasses), and ear protection. However, ammunition is not included in the price your entry. You can purchase it in our clubhouse or use your own as long as it meets our safety requirements. Depending on the weather, you may also want to bring:

• An extra layer of clothes

• Sunglasses

• Sunblock (yes...you can still get a sunburn at the end of October

IMPORTANT: ALL new shooters at LRSTC, regardless of shooting experience, must take and pass our online safety quiz before shooting. You can do this from home prior to registering.

Get Pledges. Because every target makes a difference

As a participant, you can raise even more money than with your entry fee alone. Just get your family, friends, and coworkers to make a pledge for every target you hit.

You don't need to shoot to fight cancer. If shooting is not your thing, let someone else pull the trigger for you. Sponsoring a shooter is a great way to show your support for a family member, friend, colleague or organization.

* Please note that it is your responsibility to collect and submit your pledges. All checks must be made payable to Loch Raven Skeet & Trap Center with Clays Against Cancer noted in the memo.

Clays Against Cancer is an all-volunteer event. In fact, the event would not be possible without their hard work.

We are looking for volunteers for the following positions:

• Skeet and Trap shooting and safety instructors

• Field Coordinators

• Registration desk attendants/admin support

• Prize and sponsorship coordinators

• General task runners

Volunteering for Clays Against Cancer also provides an opportunity for your children to earn community service credits to meet educational requirements.

If you would like to volunteer, please contact Jason Wennet at jasonwennet@claysagainstcancer.org
